I also teach adults, and this part of my work is incredibly special to me.
Learning violin as an adult is often about much more than music. It can bring up confidence issues, frustration, perfectionism, fear of making mistakes, or the feeling that you should be better than you are. My role is not only to teach the instrument, but to help adults move through those blocks in a calm, supportive, encouraging way.
As a qualified Mindset and Confidence Coach, I bring an added layer to adult lessons that helps students build confidence, patience, resilience, and a healthier inner voice alongside their musical development. Whether you are a complete beginner or returning after time away, lessons are tailored to help you make progress while enjoying the process and feeling proud of what you are achieving.

Meet Alexandra
Professional violinist, teacher, and qualified Mindset and Confidence Coach
Alexandra Madapatha-Parker (or Lexxie as many students know her), is the founder and director of The Violin Academy, a professional violinist, experienced teacher, and qualified Mindset and Confidence Coach.
Alongside teaching, Alexandra performs professionally at weddings, corporate events, and private events across the UK. Her background as a performer brings real depth to her teaching, especially when helping students build confidence, prepare for performances, and develop a calm, positive mindset around progress.
She teaches from The Violin Academy studio in Crowle and within local schools, and is known for her warm, encouraging approach with both children and adults. Her lessons are designed not only to develop strong musical foundations, but also to help students grow in confidence, resilience, focus, and self-belief.
Alexandra believes learning works best when students feel safe, supported, and genuinely seen. She is married, based in North Lincolnshire, and Roxy, the much-loved family dog, occasionally adds a little extra comfort along the way.
